INTERNATIONAL terror suspects detained without trial under controversial powers will be freed in weeks, under new proposals published yesterday.
Charles Clarke, the home secretary, said he would not be seeking to renew powers which allow the detainees at Belmarsh prison in London to be interned. He also ruled out any immediate use of controversial powers of house arrest contained in the new Prevention of Terrorism Bill, but said they would be kept in reserve.See the full content of this document
