THERE are serious implications following the result of the Edinburgh congestion-charge vote. One of the main reasons for the No vote is that a Labour council failed to deliver the Labour vote. Where were all the Labour MPs and MSPs? I noticed only one on the campaign trail. We had the grotesque spectacle of Labour councils taking another Labour council to court.

I was disgusted by the photograph of the Tory, SNP, LibDem and SSP leaders holding "No" placards. When did these parties ditch their policy of "The polluter must pay"? What rogues and hypocrites. I presume these parties and much of the Labour Party now take the Bush line on Kyoto.
