FANCY a bio-degradable papier mche coffin, a bikini made of maize or a bamboo designer dining set? Green design is not to be sniffed at - sustainable, environmentally sound household items are now as fashionable as your bright blue recycling bin.

A new exhibition at the Museum of Scotland sets out boldly to prove it by showing items by top-end names such as Tom Dixon, Nick Rawcliffe, Lois Walpole and Wayne Hemmingway. A pouffe made from tennis balls and trainers fashioned out of recycled parachut material, car seats and prison blankets are also featured.
