The Tiger tapes
AS Radio Clyde's 30th anniversary reunion bash looms near, Paul Coia recalls how, as an unsuspecting newcomer, he asked prankster "Tiger" Tim Stevens to record his favourite childhood Christmas memory. Paul received it a nerve-jangling 10 minutes before his late- night show went on air - 10 days after every other presenter had delivered theirs. Tim's unedited tape, evidently recorded straight after Clyde's Christmas lunch, treated listeners to him wandering drunkenly along corridors at Anderston Cross, blowing a trombone, baring his bottom at Susan Walsh in the newsroom and finally throwing up over colleague Richard Park's desk. Paul eventually grew to appreciate Tim's sign-off: "Ah 'hink there's a bit o' carrot comin' doon ma nose."See the full content of this document
