well-travelled: The Forth Road Bridge has its 40th anniversary later this year. However, a (pounds) 3.5m resurfacing project on the bridge is proving to be a less than happy occasion for weekend commuters stuck in lengthy tailbacks.
Work which began on the project on April 16 means the south- bound carriageway will be closed every weekend until June. The Forth Estuary Transport Authority has donated (pounds) 10,000 to local communities to come up with an idea to celebrate the anniversary to thank them for their patience.
