A star for 40 years, Ethel Merman was the dame who put the broad into Broadway. Famed for her foghorn voice she was not the greatest of actresses, but she had personality. It is that personality which this look at her life celebrates.

Merman was a monster in many ways, but because she delivered when on stage her eccentricities were tolerated. Writer John Kane has set the scene in a rehearsal studio. Merman, her Broadway career over, has turned to cabaret with a show celebrating her past.
