Summary
Are we being softened up for the next major royal wedding? The thought is prompted by the fact that a UK Sunday broadsheet had on its front page a couple of days ago the heading "William and Kate: wedding joy" above a picture of Kate Middleton and Prince William. This was a tease; it turned out that Kate and William were attending the wedding of friends in Gloucestershire. But I reckon that the countdown to their own wedding extravaganza, with all the attendant spin and glib patriotic sentiment, has now begun. And how very convenient this will be for the Coalition Government.
