THEY thought it was all over, it wasn't quite. As Partick Thistle trudged off the field bewildered and Queen of the South jubilant, neither side could fathom how they were left with a point at Palmerston on Saturday.

Trailing by two goals with only three minutes remaining, it was in hope more than expectation that the home side ventured forward attempting to spark the unlikeliest of comebacks. The inspiration came from Willie McLaren, his powerful left foot shot finding the top corner of Ryan Shepherd's net. His second goal of the game appeared only to be a consolation. Allan Johnston had different ideas, scrambling the ball over the line in the final act of the afternoon.
