THE most powerful destroyer ever built in the UK slipped into the Clyde yesterday, cheered on its way by thousands.
HMS Daring was launched by the Countess of Wessex. The ceremony at the BAE Systems shipyard in Scotstoun, Glasgow, was also attended by John Reid, defence secretary.
