HOW can the British Army be saved from today's generals and politicians?
The Public Accounts Committee of the House of Commons has just published (February 28) a sombre report detailing just how low and overstretched our military resources have now become. The government has just accepted the "independent" recommendations of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body 2006 (which being required to take national economic and counter-inflation policies into account is far from independent), a report that from April will see the most junior and underpaid ranks worse off after increased food and accommodation charges and increased fuel and energy costs.
