It was another extraordinary performance from the prime minister, even though he was sweating profusely under the lights before his audience of doctors and health service bureaucrats. Well, I suppose he was speaking to people well above his own pay grade, if the reports of consultant and GP remuneration are to be believed, so perhaps he was feeling out of his depth.
