RESIDENTS were left to clean up after torrential rain caused widespread flooding across parts of Scotland that saw people evacuated from their homes, schools closed, shops damaged, roads and a railway line blocked.
Towns in North Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire were the worst-hit, with the emergency services called in to help people affected by the downpours, which began on Wednesday evening and continued for much of yesterday in some places.See the full content of this document
