THE Tories lost their Holyrood health spokesman yesterday when David Davidson resigned amid allegations of an affair with a Nationalist MSP and a broken leg sustained after drinking.

Mr Davidson had insisted that the injury after a reception last week was an accident, and claimed that overnight stays with Christine Grahame, the SNP shadow communities minister, were in a separate room. His party had said there would be no discipline over private matters, but Mr Davidson telephoned David McLetchie, Tory leader at Holyrood, before resigning as health spokesman.
