IT remained hidden as the layers of paint built up for almost 150 years. But workmen renovating a Victorian house in Glasgow's west end uncovered rare artwork by Alexander "Greek" Thomson.

Experts believe the colourful stencilling by one of Scotland's most famous architects dates back to 1863, when Thomson worked on the A-listed Lilybank House.
