CATTLE from England and Wales, where there is a high incidence of bovine tuberculosis, should be barred from entering Scotland, according to NFU Scotland.

The so-called zoning option is one of six possible contained in the Scottish Executive's consultation strategy paper. It would ban the movement of all cattle from high-risk areas to those with low- risk status, such as Scotland, without some form of risk assessment and testing.
