NEWS that monthly oil and gas output increased on a yearon-year basis in May for the first time in 12 months suggested record oil prices and official efforts to stimulate activity in the North Sea were paying off.
According to the latest monthly oil and gas index from Royal Bank of Scotland, combined oil and gas production increased to 3,405,792 barrels oil equivalent daily in May, from 3,401,953 in the same month last year.
