THE United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority has formed an alliance with Amec and American company CH2M Hill to target the nuclear clean- up market.

The alliance, which will also compete for international contracts, has been formed in anticipation of the opening of the UK civil nuclear decommissioning market to competition. That market alone will be worth an estimated [GBP]2bn a year, but the new alliance also hopes to capitalise on opportunities such as the multi- billion pound market in Eastern Europe.
