Without the Scots I wonder how the English would have fared on their own at Quebec, Alexandria, Corunna, Waterloo, Crimea, Lucknow, Madras, Java, Neuve Chapelle, Mons, Loos, Arras, Jutland, Istabulat, Magersfontein, Paardeberg, Dunkirk, El Alamein, St Valery, Arnhem, Korea, Kohima, the Rhine, Malaya; Russian, Atlantic and Malta convoys; and in many other battles at sea, on land and in the air?
