WHITE-collar union Amicus predicts that a further 12,000 jobs will be exported to cheaper labour markets, such as India and South Africa, by the end of 2005 taking the number of jobs offshored from the UK to 30,000.

The union's forecast follows research carried out by the CSR Foundation, an independent think-tank, which has calculated that 18,000 back office and call centre jobs have been shipped overseas since October 2003, costing the UK economy and workers some (Pounds)2.7bn in lost incomes.
