A STRIP of road leading into Glasgow Central Station, which had been due to come under the hammer, didn't make it to the auction hall after an unnamed private investor snapped it up for the asking price of pound(s)275,000.

The 2268sq ft (210.7sq m) road off the city's Oswald Street came with a 100-year lease to station operator Network Rail, which pays pound(s)18,333.33 a year to use it for access.
