THE government unveiled plans to update and streamline company law yesterday which it said would save small businesses - pounds100m a year. Simpler rules for forming a small company, and abolition of the need for a company secretary, are among proposals included in the draft Company Law Reform Bill, launched by Patricia Hewitt, trade secretary.
Hewitt said plans outlined in the White Paper would keep the "red tape" burden to a minimum, while promoting shareholder engagement.See the full content of this document
