THERE is concern within the ranks of Celtic management over the persistent ankle injury to Scott Brown. There is none, however, over any outbreak of petted lips among the players over criticisms levelled at them.

Mark Venus, the assistant manager, could not even hint at a possible date for the return of the Scottish midfielder over an ankle injury that has received an operation, an injection, a consultation by a Harley Street specialist, and an enforced period of rest. However, an outing against Hamburger SV last week exacerbated the problem.
