Summary
Wee map in hand, earphones tuned in and my blue wedding favour pinned on - really so that Poorboy's watchful guides can keep an eye out for me losing the place - I set off through the Merchant City in pursuit of love stories and fairy tales, hot-blooded passions that will sometimes bring grief and cruel wartime hardships that will bring out the best in true hearts. I'll fetch up in local cafes, a dingy alleyway, a vintage clothes shop... eight different locations, some of them tucked behind closed doors.
Each one will harbour a telling installation. Old photographs and snippets from newspapers in one. A monstrous female form squashed behind your tea-table in another - the glass of tea that arrives is not just welcome, but an extension of the scenario. A gorgeous wall of Jen Robson's fanciful story-boxes transforms an office corridor, the array of tiny horses tying in with a recurring strand in the audio-play that accompanies my every step.See the full content of this document
