WHAT a grand time I had the day I went to the Kelvingrove. It all started long ago last - Saturday morning - when I woke up in a foul mood. I think it was because I hadn't had a proper meal the previous evening and because the three dry martinis I normally have between 7pm and 8pm had been delayed to 10pm, prompting bewilderment in my constitution.

Usually, I go to tai chi on Saturday mornings, but am not sure I'm cut out for it. Everyone seems to be wafting a hand when I'm wafting a leg, and I do so wish they'd speed things up. Unable to find the pound(s)4.70 needed to feed the Edinburgh parking meter, I gave it a miss, which further confused the even tenor of my constitution.
