Summary
Whenever I see an illegal position on a chess board I feel compelled to correct it. In the starting position, the king and queen are often on each other's squares, as are the knights and bishops, while a white square is often the left corner. When I see such things, the feeling I have is not of a teacher wanting to correct a spelling mistake, but more like the melancholy of unrequited love.
