BUDGET hotel chain Premier Travel Inns and the Costa Coffee network continue to fuel growth at Whitbread, which is reining in its exposure to the sluggish pub restaurant trade.

The leisure giant announced yesterday that it will open its first Costa store in China early next year, in Shanghai, with 300 more planned in that country over the next few years.
