MICHAEL Hogan, the Standard Life policyholder who is standing for election to the board at this month's annual meeting, yesterday challenged the Edinburgh-based insurer on why mortgage reprojection letters have not reached customers before they cast their votes.

Standard responded that it had sent out around half of the 800,000 letters, and was "ahead of schedule" in the three-month process which began in February.
