A WOMAN has been hounded from her Lanarkshire home after being mistaken for Maxine Carr, the former girlfriend of Ian Huntley, the Soham murderer.

The woman, who moved into a flat in Lindsayfield, East Kilbride, last week, has now left - escorted by housing officials - after residents gave credence to rumours that Ms Carr was in the town, rather than accept assurances from the authorities, including police and Cairns Housing Association, which owns the property.
