Young Farmers Clubs Membership Rises for First Time in 12 Years

MEMBERSHIP of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs has risen over the last 12 months for the first time in many years.

Catriona Gray, a financial consultant, who stood down last weekend as national chairman of the SAYFC, confirmed that membership has risen by 9.9% to 2900. This may be a far cry from the 18,000 figure of 40 years ago when the movement was fondly regarded as being Scotland's rural marriage bureau and was involved in a wide range of activities, but the trend is encouraging, according to Gray.
